I cant tell if he likes me or not?

I just met this kid. Hes my bffs bfs bro and we have hung out three times...all fore of us together. This sounds bad but we had the first time we hung out and he didnt be a prick an just ignore me but hes still texing me that mAkes me happy anyways he is so hard to understand one day hes snugleing with me the next time i c him hes all kinda well like he doesnt seem into me but in a small way he does...IM SO CONFUSED HELP ME?????
