What statistical test should i use for this study?

i have 2 subject groups (L1 script, n=30 and L2 script, n=30) and they take 2 vocab tests (high and low word frequency). so i have two sets of test scores for each group of subjects. the study is to determine the effect of language background on vocab learning ability.
