Why was she doing that?

There was this girl in my cl. She was the cutest one and also used to had eye contacts with me. She was the one who started it and her curiousity increased day by day. My best friend was also aware of the whole situation and we used to have discussions about the girls curiousity. Nearly every girl in the cl knew about it and they used to tease us. We did not talk or anything but used to have eye contact with each other and her eyes totally showed she liked me. Then I heard that a girl in our cl was getting married and on investigating I learned that the girl I used to had eye contact with was the one getting married in just a week. I cant understand why was she doing it. And not just that all the girls that used to tease us also knew that she was getting married but they still teased us. Now I cant say that all that happened was only me because things were really happening. How can girls be like this? Why did they do this?
